• Particulate Matter (PM) :These are the soot, metals, and pollen some are visible by naked human eyes and some can only be viewed by microscope only .Among vehicular pollution, fine particles pose the most serious threat to human health by penetrating deep into lungs.
• Sulfur dioxide : This pollutant is created by burning of sulfur-containing fuels such as diesel. It reacts with the environment and creates fine pollutants which are dangerous for Human health.
• Carbon monoxide : The combustion of fossil fuels such as gasoline form this odorless, colorless gas

Effects : When inhaled, it blocks the flow of oxygen to the brain, heart, and other vital organs in the human body. 

• Other Hazardous air pollutants : Many more hazardous pollutants are emitted by cars, trucks and other vehicles running from the gasoline power.

Causes of vehicular pollution:

• Traffic congestion : No of motor vehicles is very high in the urban cities causing the roadblock. When many vehicles are congested at one place the emission per kilometer rises with a rapid rate and causes vehicular pollution.
• Technical hitches with Gasoline Engine :Gasoline is highly flammable and toxic when gasoline is burned it creates (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and unburned hydrocarbons) contributing to air pollution.
• The Combustion Process : The combustion process directly leads to the emission of harmful gasses like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and particulate matter, into the environment. These Particulate matter are responsible for about 30,000 premature deaths annually.
• Increasing no. of gasoline vehicle population :As report suggested from the past Decades there is over 10% increase in the number of vehicles registration every year.
• The Gasoline Itself :Motor vehicles completely rely on gasoline for it’s working engines cannot work on their own. However, gasoline is made up of hydrogen and carbon atoms, which together make hydrocarbons, constituting gasoline and diesel. It means no matter what, carbon and nitrogen particles or compounds will be released into the atmosphere as soon as gasoline is combusted, regardless of the engine.
